Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES: - Transports patients, assists in the routine care and treatment of patients, and maintains a clean and orderly department. II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: - Essential: standing, walking, seeing, hearing, speaking, lifting and pushing/pulling usual weight of 50 pounds; carrying usual weight of 20 pounds. - Frequent: stooping/bending, climbing stairs, squatting, twisting body, reaching above, at or below shoulders; repetitive arm/hand motion, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods; frequent gripping of an object. - Occasional: sitting, kneeling, crawling, walking on uneven ground; finger dexterity, lifting and pushing/pulling up to maximum 50 pounds of force; carrying up to maximum 50 pounds. - Operates whirlpools, weights, walkers, canes, wheelchairs. Requires working under stressful conditions. III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: - Subjected to both outside/inside environmental conditions and whirlpool temperatures up to 110F. - Some exposure to body fluids and communicable diseases. - Works with electrical/mechanical units. - Exposed to strong odor/fumes from germicide to clean whirlpools and decreased ventilation due to room temperature. - Requires working under a fast paced, stressful environment. IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE: - High school diploma or equivalent. - Current certification in BLS/HCP. B. EXPERIENCE: - One (1) year patient care work experience or equivalent public contact experience. - Experience to demonstrate ability to speak, read, write and understand English both verbally and in writing.
