Position Overview

We are seeking a Bilingual Paraprofessional to join our team at Interdynamics, Inc., a behavioral health

service provider committed to offering compassionate care to clients and their families. The ideal

candidate will provide essential language support to facilitate communication between our clinical team

and clients, as well as their parents or guardians. This role involves translating verbal and written

materials related to behavioral health services, including assessments, treatment plans, and therapy

sessions, ensuring that all clients receive accurate and culturally sensitive support.

Responsibilities and Duties
• Translate verbal and written communications between clients, their families, and clinical

staff in English and Spanish.
• Translate and explain clinical documentation, including assessment forms, progress

notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries to clients and their families in their

preferred language.
• Assist in intake assessments and therapy sessions by ensuring that all parties

understand the content and can express concerns or needs.
• Act as a liaison between clients and their families and the clinical team, facilitating

understanding of treatment goals, progress, and any follow-up actions needed.
• Ensure clear, accurate, and confidential communication between non-English speaking

clients and healthcare providers.
• Assist with interpreting behavioral health terms and concepts, ensuring that families fully

understand mental health conditions, treatment options, and any potential next steps.
• Help coordinate appointments, ensure clients and families understand clinic protocols

and communicate relevant information regarding appointments, services, and any

necessary follow-up.
• Participate in regular training and workshops to stay up to date on best practices in

behavioral health, language translation techniques, and confidentiality requirements.
• Attend team meetings and participate in case discussions as appropriate, sharing

relevant insights or information as a bilingual resource.
• Collaborate with other staff to ensure services are culturally appropriate and linguistically

accessible.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Healthcare, or a related field (preferred).
• Fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken). Certification in medical translation

or interpretation is highly desirable, but not required.
• Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals from different cultural

and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to convey complex

information in both languages clearly and effectively.
• Ability to build trust with clients and their families while maintaining a professional and

empathetic demeanor.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks, such as translating

documents, interpreting during sessions, and maintaining accurate records.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Cultural competence and a deep understanding of the unique needs of bilingual and

bicultural clients.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to all legal and ethical guidelines in the

handling of patient information.
