Requirements The Clinical Social Worker provides direct services, including coordination of care, evaluations, counseling, and referrals, to patients and research participants of the Memory Disorders Program (MDP). This team member, fluent in Spanish and English, serves as the central point of connection for all aspects of care, including clinical services, research, community resources, and support. This role is critical in advancing health equity by focusing on underserved communities and ensuring inclusive access to the care and research offered by the MDP. Collaborating with the MDP Research Providers and the Community Engagement Specialist, this position also plays a key role in improving the recruitment and retention of underrepresented groups in MDP clinical trials. The Clinical Social Worker has additional responsibilities that include but are not limited to: + Develop programs and informational materials tailored to diverse communities and collaborate with the Community Research Liaison to coordinate and participate in community events, meetings, and workshops. + Create and implement patient and participant care plans for Spanish-speaking patients, research subjects, their families, and other underserved groups in partnership with MDP and MGUH Neurology providers. + Educate and counsel MDP patients, participants, and their families about dementia research, care options, and local community resources and support services. + Administer global rating scales and cognitive assessments to Spanish-speaking MDP research participants. + Coordinate research and clinical care services for MDP patients, study participants, and their families, ensuring a focus on underserved communities. + Supervise and mentor trainees, volunteers, and students, including medical students and other professionals in training. + Support MDP and MGUH Neurology clinicians in delivering the highest quality of care through seamless coordination of services and access to available resources. Requirements and Qualifications + Master's degree in Social Work. + 5-7 years of clinical social work experience; geriatric social work experience strongly preferred. + Valid state or government social work license. + Experience in clinical research or medical settings is strongly preferred. + Excellent organizational, communication, and networking skills with the ability to build long-term relationships with investigators and community members. + Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks effectively. + Proficiency in PC software programs, including Windows, MS Office, internet, and email. + Fluency in Spanish and English.
