As an
Accounts Payable Specialist
, you will perform tasks related to accounts payable functions with precision and attention to detail. This includes understanding and applying the 3-way matching principle, verifying the accuracy of vendor invoices against purchase orders, consulting agreements, and other accounting documents.
Primary responsibilities:
Matches, verifies, and processes vendor invoices and other expenditure documents like credit cards with purchase orders or other authorization documents. Investigates and reconciles differences in invoice or payment amounts to ensure accurate payment and account coding. Ensures that applicable sales tax is paid or accrued. Liquidation and vouchering of receipts on credit card purchases. Gathers AP documents for interim and year-end audits for external and various government audits. Investigates and responds to vendor and Supply Chain inquiries regarding overdue invoices. Collaborates with other Accounts Payable staff on work efficiencies. Works closely with the Accounts Payable Specialists on positive pay and liquidation of advances and milestone payments. Participates in the implementation and transition to Invoice Capture/ Document Workflow. Regularly copies, scans, and files documents for the A/P department. Additional duties, as assigned. Northridge, CA
office. This is an non-exempt non-supervisory temporary position.

Experiences and Background We Look For:
5+ years of previous Accounts Payable work experience experience with Costpoint Accounting system is highly desirable.
Previous experience with document imaging administration or invoice capture (a.k.a. "paperless" invoice system) is highly desirable.
Proficiency with MS Windows, including MS Word and MS Excel (e.g. can accurately complete sum functions and calculations using Excel formulas)
Good analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
Understands 3-Way Match Principle
Understands sales tax applicable to purchases.
Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Ability to work occasional overtime as required.
The salary range for this role is $50,000/yr to $75,000/yr; however, Arete considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to: the position and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
Other Requirements
U.S. citizenship is required to meet position eligibility.
Selected applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
