As the Accounts Payable Specialist, you are a vital part of the Team, responsible for carrying on the Vision, Mission and Values of SBC. In this role, you will report to the Executive Director of Finance and are responsible for maintaining accounts payable records, reconciling vendor statements, and ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors of Scottsdale Bible Church and to assist in special projects as needed.

Your Essential Responsibilities:

In this position, you will be responsible for:
  • Processing Invoices: entering invoices into the system, verifying them, and coding them for payment
  • Reconciling vendor accounts: checking that invoices have been paid correctly and on time, maintain vendor records
  • Managing the payment cycle: securing discounts for early payments and managing due dates
  • Reporting: tracking and recording expenditures, reviewing variances
  • Taxes: file sales and use tax monthly, annual 1099s
  • Developing relationships: Interact with vendors and ministry departments to obtain accurate general ledger coding and resolve payables-related problems
  • Month-end: assist with closing activities related to accounts payable, including reconciliations and accruals

Education and/or experience:
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices related to accounts payable
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Minimum 2-4 years of previous accounts payable experience

In this position you will be onsite Monday-Thursday and telecommute Friday.
