Position Information:
This position provides interpretation services to students, parents, and/or staff for whom English is not their primary language. Interpreting service opportunities usually consist of attending (but are not limited to): conferences, meetings related to student's education, parent/teacher discussions, IEP and other special education meetings, and community events.
This position translates written documents/statements from one language to another language and proof reads documents/statements.
Your application will be placed into an applicant pool for Language Access Intrepreters/Translators. When filling positions, the Hiring Administrator may hire directly from this Pool.

Required Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
Bilingual in English and at least one other language
International diplomas or degrees completed outside of the USA must be evaluated by an international credentials evaluation agency
Licenses/Special Requirements:
Must have a valid Washington State Driver's License/ID
Must have a reliable method of transportation
Must pass the proficiency test upon hire (national/state certification OR a valid Washington State Teacher Certificate with an endorsement in a non-English language may substitute for the proficiency test)
Completion of required training upon hire
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience providing translation/interpretation support.
Experience working with students/families in an educational setting.

Eligibility for SEBB state health insurance coverage is determined by working 630 hours during the school year. Eligibility for retirement at the time of hire is determined by employees who work at least 3.50 hours per day in a continuing position.
